The Walthamstow Gyratory scheme has been identified by Transport for London (TfL) as a key part of its Road Modernisation Programme (RMP) and Bus Reliability Initiatives which aim to improve bus journey times, reliability, and the passenger experiencel. Proposals dramatically increase public realm in the area while improving visibility across the space and legibility for pedestrians and cyclists moving through the junction.
Public realm proposals are divided into a series of projects under three categories. Firstly, proposals which deliver the main highways and public realm layout. Secondly, projects bringing added value to existing buildings, structures, spaces and routes that are linked to the main project area. Thirdly, projects which relate to future development and how these can contribute to the overall public realm vision.
